FUNDING

  Our Funding

The initial funding for the scholarship and fellowship programs came through generous donations from Fred's friends, colleagues and family. Today, the Abramson Foundation continues to be supported through the tax deductible contributions of Board members, individuals, foundations, law firms and local businesses and corporations who want to make a difference in the lives of young people who live and work in Washington, DC. The requests from qualified applications far exceed our capacity to help these students and so the Foundation continues to seek new supporters.

In addition to the organizations listed below there are several hundred individual donors to the Abramson Foundation.

"The Abramson Foundation makes it possible for many DC Public School students to attend college. As a Board Member I am able to participate in this wonderful experience and share my expertise on the Scholarship Committee. In doing so I have met many wonderful people outside of the education field who are willing to give back to children in our city."
